Many call it BBQ shredded Crock pot pulled pork because it looks like shredded pork, but technically it is BBQ pulled pork. But, if you’d like call it shredded pork, no-one will care. Once it’s cooked, the way it became its name is from using your hands, or a fork, to literally twist and pull the pork beef away from the fat, and to separate it from the bone.

The cut of meat excellent for pulled pork comes from the higher part of the shoulder from the front leg of a hog. It is named the Boston Butt, or pork shoulder. At your favourite butcher shop, asked them for a bone-in, pork shoulder.

Before you barbecue, wash entirely and pat dry. Trim as much fat off it as you can. To get the most out of your cooking experience you may need to add a quality dry rub to the pork shoulder. Fundamentally, what it does is tenderizes the beef and gives it a tantalizing BBQ taste.

You can go to the grocery store and purchase a pre-packaged dry rub. Don’t use tin foil or pans. Place the beef in the container and pour, or shake, a generous amount of dry rub on it. Repeat!

Next, pour a combination of plain yellow mustard and / or honey over the Crock pot pulled pork. You could have to heat the honey up to get it to spread properly. Use a brush and cover all the sides. Refrigerate overnight with the cover closed firmly on the marinating pan.

If you don’t, you may burn the outside. Really, a shallow range roasting pan will work, too.

On the gas grill, you only need to light one side of the grill. With a charcoal griddle, place the lit briquets on one side of the unit. Place the roast directly on the dark site of the griddle, don’t use the cookie rack and pan. This is a long, long cooking time.

Use correct airflow. Bottom vents open when pre-heating, open top vents when cooking on indirect heat. Once you have everything setup, you wish to keep the lids on the barbies, and oven closed. Don’t turn the Crock pot pulled pork shoulder while cooking.

You must mop the pork shoulder to add flavour and moisture to it. A half cup of juice, apple or orange will often suffice. Add a big spoon of the vinegar.

You’ll need to add charcoal along the line.

along with the smoker box, purchase pre-packed wood chips. They come in all sorts of flavors, but you may want to stick to fruit woods for the pulled pork. Soak the wood chips for no less than 30 mins before putting them in the smoker box. While you are cooking the pork shoulder, place the box on the lit side of the grill.

Let it sit for a least a half hour to 45 minutes before serving. Pull apart the crust and take away the bone. You can do this by pulling it apart with a fork or using your fingers.

Place the beef on a cutting board and chop it up with a knife. Serve on Texas Toast or eat it by itself with, or without a dipping sauce. Hope you like this straightforward shredded crock pot pulled pork recipe.

The Cuban sandwich is mostly prepared by workers in Cuba and in the immigrant community of Ybor city of Tampa. It is obvious from its name that it originally belongs to Cuba. The Cuban sandwich is mainly made up of ham, cheese and many more variations are created from other ingredients. Slowly it started gaining fame and recognition in the southern parts of Florida and now it’s very popular in Key West and Miami.

The ingredients that constitute the Cuban sandwich are the ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and sometimes salami on Cuban bread. This sandwich is also well known as the mixto sandwich or the Cuban Pressed Sandwich. Well, as in all the preparation recipes of great food there are always some arguments mingling around as to its exact recipe. Some sort of debate for its ingredients also surrounds the Cuban sandwich. The traditional sandwiches from Cuba mainly consist of the Cuban Bread. The other ingredients include butter, which is very common, yellow mustard, roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles. The inclusion of salami is the main issue of argument. In Miami the salami is left out where as in the city of Tampa, the Genoa Salami is traditionally layered in with the other meats. Some special ingredients like the lettuce, mayonnaise and tomato are added in the restaurants of Key West.

The sandwich is very amazing and treats the customer by completely filling up their stomachs. These sandwiches are lightly toasted in a sandwich press called a plancha, without the grooved surfaces. The best place to buy these delectable portions is from loncherias or street corner-snack bars. The grilling makes the difference in the taste of the sandwich from good to great. Every Cuban sandwich lover believes in his or her own style of preparing it. So, there are lots of different varieties available in the recipe with either inclusion or exclusion of particular ingredient.

The Cuban sandwiches are so famous that they also serve one of the major tourist attractions. The tour to Tampa or Miami is incomplete without tasting the delicacy of this sandwich. These sandwiches have a layering of ham in submarine-style along with roast pork, pickle between a sliced length of Cuban bread and cheese. These sandwiches are usually served either hot or cold, depending upon the customers wish.

What makes the Cuban sandwich so special is the Cuban bread that serves the main base. It is not any ordinary bread, but the Cuban bread, which is not easily available outside Cuba, i.e. Tampa and Miami. The other substitution can be considered as Italian and French bread, but they are not same to the Cuban bread. It also serves a meal for many of the people in Cuba.

The Cuban sandwich is made of a roll and has three or four things in between the sides. On the counters of the restaurants, all kinds of baked meat and fowl are available. The hams are also spiced up to enrich the taste. Many of the sandwiches are also filled with custard, which is famous as “flan” in the city. Overall, it is one of the most important delicacies in Cuba and its suburbs.

As ham sandwiches go, it was perfection. A thick slab of ham, a fresh bun, crisp lettuce, and plenty of expensive, light brown, gourmet mustard. The corners of his jaws aching in anticipation, he carried it to the picnic table in his backyard, picked it up with both hands, but was stopped by his wife suddenly at his side. “Hold Johnny (their six-week-old son) while I get my sandwich,” she said.

He had him balanced between his left elbow and shoulder and was reaching again for the ham sandwich when he noticed a streak of mustard on his fingers.

He loves mustard.

He had no napkin.

He licked it off.

It was not mustard.

No man ever put a baby down faster.

It was the first and only time he sprinted with his tongue protruding. With a washcloth in each hand he did the sort of routine shoeshine boys do, only he did it on his tongue.

Later his wife said, “Now you know why they call that mustard “Poupon.”
