This is one of dozens of methods for Potato Salad. Chef Remy makes this classic potato salad by combining boiled egg yolks with mayo, mustard, and pickle juice to form a deliciously smooth and velvety sauce. The sauce is folded carefully into seasoned boiled potato chunks mixed with chopped red onion, scallions, parsley, and sliced boiled egg whites. If you like this recipe and wish to experiment with additional ingredients, then Chef Remy suggests to try sliced black olives or sliced roast red bell pepper and perhaps capers or even pickle relish. INGREDIENTS: 4 potatoes, peeled, large diced ½ cup mayo 1 Tbsp yellow mustard 4 eggs boiled 1 Tbsp pickle juice 2 Tbsp diced red onion 2 Tbsp chopped scallions 8 tsp paprika 2 Tbsp chopped kosher pickle ½ tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 1 Tbsp chopped parsley METHOD: Peel and cut potatoes in 1 inch chunks. Boil in salted water until tender and cool in fridge. Boil eggs, cool, peel, and cut in halves. Separate yolks from whites. Slice whites and set aside. Mash yolks and combine with mayo, mustard, and pickle juice. Set aside in fridge. When potatoes and egg mixture have become cold, remove from fridge and place in large mixing bowl. Combine potatoes and egg mixture carefully with a large wooden spoon. Do it at the same time you add the chopped onions, scallions, parsley, pickle wedges. Also adjust for salt and pepper. Sprinkle paprika just before serving.

parentearth.com Fab lives in California. She has a vegan kitchen and shares recipes and tips on healthy snacks for pregnant women. She cooks and eats with pregnant Tatiana and her kids. Welcome to the Fab Kitchen! RECIPE Ingredients: 1 package of tempeh* 4 green onions (white and light green part) thinly sliced 1 celery stick diced 1 large dill pickle diced ½ bunch of fresh dill minced or 2 tsp. dried dill 2 Tbsp. vegan mayonnaise (I prefer Veganaise) 1 tsp. yellow mustard 1 tsp. Braggs Liquid Aminos Salt and pepper to taste Preparation: Crumble tempeh with hands and steam in a pot for 15 minutes. When done, place cooked tempeh in a large bowl and allow to cool. Once tempeh has cooled completely mash with a fork to make smaller crumbles. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. If mixture is too dry feel free to add more mayonnaise & mustard. Serve this delicious updated classic over a bed of greens, as a sandwich on whole grain bread, or in pita pocket bread. Also great served as an appetizer with whole grain crackers or lettuce cups. Trust me, this vegan dish will have you hooked and wanting more. *Tempeh, originating in Indonesia, is made from cooked and fermented soybeans that are formed into firm patties much like a veggie burger. Since it is made from whole soybeans, it is a complete protein food that contains all the essential amino acids. It is also a generous source of minerals, soy iso-flavones, calcium, B vitamins and iron. Tempeh is a naturally cholesterol-free …

This salad recipe is not only tasty but it also makes a pretty presentation with its Red Delicious apples and snowy cauliflower. The combination of apples, which are a favorite salad fruit and cauliflower, a common vegetable salad ingredient, is delicious. When you add the homemade Poppy Seed Dressing; the recipe follows, you have a great tasting salad. And this salad and dressing are also diabetic friendly. No need to make a regular salad and one for the diabetics. Everyone will love this one. For a special presentation, divide the salad evenly among six salad plates that have been lined with lettuce leaves. Or serve directly from the bowl.

CAULIFLOWER-APPLE SALAD WITH POPPY SEED DRESSING

2 large, unpeeled Red Delicious apples, thinly sliced
1 cup cauliflower florets, in small pieces
3/4 cup Poppy Seed Dressing (recipe follows)
Lettuce leaves, optional

In a medium bowl that has a lid, combine the apple slices with the cauliflower. Add the poppy seed dressing and toss lightly to coat evenly.

POPPY SEED DRESSING:

1 egg
3/4 cup Splenda granular
1 tbsp instant minced onion
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
1/2 tsp poppy seeds
1/2 tsp sesame seeds

In a blender container, combine the egg, Splenda, onion, and Dijon mustard; process until mixture is smooth. While the blender is running, gradually pour the Italian salad dressing into the mixture in a thin, steady stream, processing until well blended. Stir in the poppy and sesame seeds. Pour into a jar with a lid and refrigerate until completely chilled.

Note: This dressing is also good on fresh fruit salads. If you do not want to use raw egg, you may substitute 1/4 cup of egg substitute.

Enjoy!

Sprinkle almonds over the salad, then the chow mein noodles.

Cut the chicken into small chunks. Place the chicken onto the salad forming a pile in the middle. Serve with salad dressing on the side.

–Applebee’s Baby Back Ribs–

3 racks (about 1 lb. each) pork baby back ribs, each cut in half Barbecue sauce:

1 cup ketchup

1/4 cup apple cider vinager

3 tablespoons dark brown sugar

3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon liquid smoke

1/2 teaspoon salt

1. Put ribs in a large pot with enough water to cover them. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour or until ribs are fork tender.

2. Mix all sauce ingrediants together in a medium sauce pan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered, stirring often, for 30 minutes or until slightly thickened.

–Applebee’s Bourbon Street Steak–

1/2 cup bottled steak sauce

1/4 cup bourbon whiskey

1 tablespoon honey

2 teaspoons prepared mustard

4 beef rib, round, or chuck steaks (10 ounces each)

Combine all the ingredients except the steaks in a baking dish or resealable plastic storage bag; mix well. Add the steaks; cover (or seal) and refrigerate for 2 hours, or overnight. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the steaks for 12 to 15 minutes, or until desired doneness, turning them over halfway through the grilling.

Spread in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over all. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes…

–Applebee’s Lemonade–

1 Quart water

1 Cup sugar

1 Cup FRESH lemon juice

Sparkling Water (not tonic water, like Perrier) Mix first three togther. Fill a tall glass 2/3 to 3/4 with Lemon mixture then fill with sparkling water.

1 green bell pepper

Salt and Pepper to taste

2 boiled eggs, chopped

Mayonnaise

Frozen peas

Directions

Cut up vegetables. Cook the noodles and add the frozen peas at the last 3 minutes of the boiling noodles. Drain and rinse with cold water.

Add vegetable, mayonnaise, noodles and peas then the chicken. Using the canned chicken, add the water from the can. Add at the end with the rest so it does not break up too much. You’ll have to add more mayonnaise as it soaks up about 1 to 2 hours later.

If using cooked chicken, add onion, celery together until done. Cool cooked chicken; dice. Add salt and salad dressing or mayonnaise. Add chopped eggs on top. Garnish with paprika.

=> Recipe for Chicken Salad: Chinese Chicken Salad

The difference between Chinese chicken salad and the regular version is the addition of fruit, nuts and chow mein noodles.

1 (15 oz.) can chunk pineapple, drained

1 (11 oz.) can mandarin orange sections, drained

1/2 cup sliced pitted ripe olives

1/2 cup sweet green pepper, chopped

2 tablespoons onion, grated

1 cup celery, chopped

1 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

1(5 oz.) can chow mein noodles

Chopped pecans, optional

Directions

In a large bowl, combine chicken, pineapple, celery, oranges, olives, bell pepper, and onion. Blend mayonnaise and mustard. Toss gently with chicken. Cover and chill several hours. Just before serving, mix in chow mein noodles. Turn salad onto lettuce lined salad plate. Serve with crackers.

=> Easy Chicken Salad Recipe: Best Easy Chicken Salad

This is a very simple chicken salad recipe, especially if you are just learning how to make chicken salad. There’s nothing like homemade.

1 chicken boiled and deboned, chopped

6 boiled eggs, chopped

To make this condiment, your poet begs

The pounded yellow of two hard-boiled eggs;

Two boiled potatoes, passed through kitchen sieve,

Smoothness and softness to the salad give.

Let onion atoms lurk within the bowl,

And, half suspected, animate the whole.

Of mordant mustard add a single spoon,

Distrust the condiment that bites so soon;

But deem it not, thou man of herbs, a fault,

To add a double quantity of salt.

Four times the spoon with oil from Lucca brown,

And twice with vinegar procured from town;

And, lastly, o’er the flavored compound toss

A magic soupcion of anchovy sauce.

O, green and glorious! O herbaceous treat!

‘T would tempt the dying anchorite to eat:

Back to the world he’d turn his fleeting soul,

And plunge his fingers in the salad bowl!

Serenely full, the epicure would say,

“Fate cannot harm me, I have dined to-day.”

Salads are an excellent way to pump up your daily food with some essential and healthy nutrients; Salads can be prepared from everyday vegetables and are the easiest of all recipes. Experts have recommended including atleast one variety of salad daily. Since most salads have vegetables and other ingredients in thier raw form, all the essential nutrients are preserved.
